The Lakers Volleyball Club has been around in Halifax, Nova Scotia for at least
30 years. The club has both men's and women's teams, ranging from 14 and under, to 18 and under.
Club season starts in December, and runs until Volleyball Canada Age Group Nationals
in early May.
My involvement in the club started as a player in 1997 in the 16 and under program.
I played a very successful year of 16 and under, being on a bronze medal winning team at the 1997 Eastern Canada Midget Championships.
I played my two years of 18 and under, and than came back the following year as an assistant coach. This is now my third year
as the head coach of the 18 and under men's program.

This is the 2002 group, which will always hold a special place in my heart.
As much for their stellar play, as for their idiosyncracies (kleptomaniacs, crazy go-kart drivers, kids from the sticks, etc.).
